Wild & Scenic Film Festival presents environmental and adventure films that illustrate the Earth’s beauty, the challenges facing our planet, and the work communities are doing to protect the environment. This year’s event includes two full-length feature films as well as a short film program with thirteen short films, two local short films and three unique local speakers.

The festival’s seven National Partners: CLIF Bar, Patagonia, Sierra Nevada Brewing Company, Orion Magazine, Klean Kanteen, Earthjustice and Barefoot Wine & Bubbly are joined by local title sponsors Atlasta Solar center, Senergy Builders and Energywise Consultants as well as Seek Outside, Bonsai Design, Hoskin, Farina and Kampf, Dalby Wendland, Loki USA, Colorado Discover Ability, Many Rivers Brewing Co., Snow Capped Cider, and Downtown Development Authority.

Charged: The Eduardo Garcia Story

After Eduardo Garcia gets electrocuted in the Montana backcountry, he loses one hand, ribs, muscle mass and nearly his life, but he finds more than he lost. Charged is a survival story built on the foundations of love and forgiveness, building stronger relationships and a better life after tragedy. It is about finding your best self so you can live life fully Charged. (language, graphic images, 86 min.)

3:30 PM FEATURE FILM (DOORS AT 3:00PM)

A Steelhead Quest: A Portrait of a Rivered Life

Terry Myers, a steelhead advocate, and long-time angler spent 2015 trying to catch a wild steelhead on a different river each month of the year. After successfully hooking a wild steelhead in all but two of the months, she set her sight on finding the last two fish to complete her quest. With her husband Jerry in tow, we see the challenges they face with depleting runs, while still enjoying every aspect of being on the river together—rain or shine, fish or no fish. (60 min.) Includes a local short film by Randy Miller of Vitality Films.

7 PM SHORT FILM PROGRAM (DOORS AT 6:30 PM)

This year’s program includes thirteen short films as well as an introduction by Randy Miller of Vitality Films. (some language, 150 minutes).
